Join IEEE EMBS — the World’s Largest Technical Professional Society.

Who’s eligible?

You may become a Member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society by meeting any one of the following requirements:

  • You are already a member of IEEE.
  • You graduated from a four-year engineering program or a related course of study in an accredited school, and you are recommended by an IEEE member.
  • You provide evidence of professional achievement in the field, such as a formal education with an engineering or biomedical major, or a professional position, and you are recommended by an IEEE member,

You may become an EMBS Affiliate if your professional interests are in the fields covered by EMBS, but you do not desire the additional benefits derived from belonging to the parent IEEE organization. You may join as an EMBS Affiliate if:

  • You have established membership in a professional society that is recognized by EMBS for affiliation purposes. There are many such societies in engineering, medicine, and the physical/life sciences.
  • You have professional achievements in biomedical engineering, and you are recommended by an IEEE member.

BECOME AN EMBS AFFILIATE MEMBER

You may join as a Student Member if you are registered for at least 50% of a full-time academic program in biological, biomedical, electrical, electronics, or computer engineering; computer sciences; an allied branch of engineering or engineer technology; or the related arts and sciences. EMBS currently has nearly 1,500 student members from all over the world.
