In addition to the many career and financial services IEEE EMBS offers its members, IEEE EMBS also provides its own Member Database that allows members to modify on-line their IEEE/EMBS address details; locate EMBS members; exclude themselves from EMBS bulk emailings; add upcoming conference, event information and links of general interest to other members; participate in discussion forums; and update the list of institutions offering biomedical engineering programs and companies that are involved in the field.
Society Officers have added functionality, including generating statistical reports by region/country/membership grade, etc.; contacting groups of members by email; defining committee memberships and access to restricted areas of the Society Archive, etc. The database logon process also allows access to sections of the on-line Society Archive, including meeting minutes, constitution/by-laws and society financial information.
