Xu Zhang is Associate Professor and a leading investigator in biomedical electronics in the School of Microelectronics, and in the Joint Program of Biomedical Engineering, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Before current position he was a postdoctoral fellow in Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago from 2011 to 2013. He received the B.S. degree in electronic science and technology and the Ph.D. degree in BME, both from USTC, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. His research interests include biomedical signal processing, neural machine interfaces, neuromuscular physiology, multimodal data fusion, medical electronics and healthcare applications. He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed journal articles, and holds over 20 patents. Dr. Zhang is the recipient of the 2018 award for Distinguished Young Investigator in China Frontiers of Engineering (neural engineering group).
